The Chronicles of Teenage Mothers: The Why?!

When I first decided to start a blog, I wanted a name that captured the essence of the stories I was about to share—stories of struggle, resilience, and transformation. As I reflected on my own journey as a teenage mother and the countless others I've met over the years, I knew one thing for certain: these stories needed to be heard. And so, I settled on The Chronicles of Teenage Mothers.

Why "Chronicles"? The word evokes a sense of storytelling, of recording significant moments in time, and preserving them for future generations. Teenage motherhood is often viewed through a lens of judgment and pity, but I believe that the real stories—the raw, untold stories—deserve to be shared. These chronicles are not about weakness or failure, but about survival, strength, and the power to rise despite the odds.

Each story on this blog is a chapter in the larger narrative of what it means to be a teenage mother—navigating societal expectations, battling internal struggles, and building a future for themselves and their children. It’s a tale that too often goes unheard, and I want to change that.

The word "Chronicles" also implies continuity. Teenage mothers are not defined by their age or their circumstances. They have dreams, ambitions, and lives that evolve over time. These chronicles are about the ongoing journey—from the moment they become mothers, to the moments they discover their own strength, to the times they overcome challenges and redefine themselves.

Through this blog, I hope to shed light on my own personal experiences throughout the years and also the experiences of my daughters, whom i have parented on my own mostly. It’s about amplifying our voices and creating a platform where we{they} can find solidarity and support.

So, why The Chronicles of Teenage Mothers? Because it’s more than just a title—it’s a call to action, a reminder that these stories matter, and that the journeys of teenage mothers are worth sharing, celebrating, and supporting.
